By following these posting standards, you will make your posts easier to read by fellow members, whilst ensuring a consistent standard across the Forums.
I (Jerry) don't do personal Support requests, sorry. It's actually better if you post on the main Forums in the appropriate section where everyone has a chance to respond.
[size=1.35em]Thread titles:[/size]
Thread titles should be brief but descriptive.
eg. You want to make a thread about installing 'Gimp' on Linux
Thread title would read:
How to install Gimp on Linux
Thread content:
For install commands and code in general, please use the Insert Code button on the posting menu bar or [ code ]sudo apt-get install gimp[ /code ] (without the spaces in the code brackets) to enclose your code.
eg.
Code: sudo apt-get install gimp
[size=1.35em]Pasting Terminal Code into a Forum thread:[/size]
Open a terminal from the Taskbar.
Run the command you've been asked to run. Select all the text in the Terminal window, right click on it and select Copy:
Right click and paste your Terminal code into your Forum post, then select all the Terminal output in your Forum post and select the code # hash button from the editing bar:
If you are doing a screenshot, press the Printscreen button on your keyboard and follow the instructions before you.
[size=1.35em]Inserting images:[/size]
Upload your images to imgur for free.
Click on New post. Select your image from the Choose Photo/Video button and browse in your computer where the image is.
Hover your mouse over the top right hand corner of the image and click on the 3 dots, and then click on Get share links from the drop down menu and copy the code from the BBCode box in imgur and paste it on a line in your post where you want the picture to appear.
DO NOT attach your screenshots to the Forums, this takes up huge amounts of disk space over time. Please only use the attachment function for reports.
All images are limited to 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. Clicking on pictures that are larger than that will make them full size once your post has been made.
[size=1.35em]Attaching a report[/size]
On Linux Lite, do Menu > Settngs > Lite System Report.
Then click on Attachments and other options at the bottom of the edit window. Click on the Browse button and select the system report file. Lastly, click on the Post button. ONLY .txt files can be attached to the Forums.
[size=1.35em]Marking Threads as SOLVED:[/size]
It's important to mark threads as SOLVED. When people look for solutions in search engines, they will first look to SOLVED as that signifies an issue has a solution.
When you receive an answer that solves your problem, click on Modify at the top of your very first post in the thread:
Click on the Prefix box as shown below and select SOLVED.
Click on Save at the bottom to finish.

My computer is old PC with one AMD Athlon XP processor. I used to have Linux Mint (Maya) 13 and Mate desktop, but what I didn't like about it was processor use being all the time around 95%. On Linux Lite it is only around 40%.
So I am very pleased on the processor usage and the nice outlook of Linux Lite.

I've been testing the 14.04 Ubuntus. Been very impressed with both main Ubuntu and Xubuntu. I'm looking forward to the next new LTS release of Linux Lite. Any idea when we might see an Alpha/Beta/RC early version of Linux Lite?

In this section, you can post anything you like, as long as it doesn't include any inappropriate content. One thing to be aware of: DO NOT advertise, market, or promote any Microsoft / Apple products or any topic that will conflict with the philosophy of Linux, Open Source and Free Software. This is a Linux forum, so it should be made clear. Thank you and happy posting!

I tend to go with smaller, personalized versions of distros. I joined the LinuxLite community a few months ago when I needed a new distro after the one I was using was discontinued (SolusOS by Ikey Doherty).
I've been using Linux for many years at home, and even got my wife and kids to use it!
I really like the SMF forums and especially in a dark theme. I like this theme quite a bit, but still had to modify it to be a little darker/simpler (see my sig for link even though the BBCode seems to not work fully).

Why was Libre Office selected for Linux Lite?
For me I only need a word processor so I uninstalled Libre Office. I installed AbiWord because I think it is lighter that Libre Office's word processor. I found whenever I wanted to open a word document, I was asked if I wanted to use Libre Office first then something else where I found AbiWord. I have uninstalled AbiWord and reinstalled Libre Office's word processor because I figured there must be a good reason to use it instead of AbiWord.
If I install AbiWord and uninstall Libre Office's word processor, will AbiWord be updated when I update Linux Lite?
Can I change the preferred word processor to AbiWord?
