Okay, First let me explain this: Linux Lite will be based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. This means whatever drawback Ubuntu 16.04 LTS experience, this will be experienced under LL 3.0 as well => LL 3.0 uses the same repositories as Ubuntu.

Secondly, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS will not support the AMD Catalyst (fglrx) driver, read this article.

This means you need to use the open-source alternatives as can be read in the article.

My laptop:
MSI GE70-2PE*Quad core Intel Core i7-4710HQ*Kingston 16 GB RAM*Intel 4th Gen. Integr. GPU/NVidia GeForce GTX860M*Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2200/Intel Wireless 3160

I don't need Google, my wife knows everything!

This is only partly true. We may use the same repositories, but we do not use exactly the same software as Ubuntu. Ubuntu has Unity and many other softwares Linux Lite does not carry. We can therefore avoid many of the issues Ubuntu experiences.

I found that the proprietor drivers never did work so I never installed them. Works fine with the Open Source drivers. When problems did arise I could never remove them and ended up reinstalling the OS.
I'v been bashing Windows way before Microsoft.....
