This may be a bug in the applications but I'm having difficulty finding references.
Try setting a 'Fill Window' shortcut and using that rather than the maximise icon to see if it works better.
Click Menu and begin typing 'Window Manager' into the text search box.
When you see 'Window Manager' offered, click on it.
Select the 'Keyboard' tab and look for a Action/Shortcut combination which you never use.
Select that Action and make a note of the associated Shortcut.
Click 'Clear' to remove the Shortcut from the Action.
Find and select the Action called 'Fill Window'
Click 'Edit' and press the shortcut key combination so that it becomes associated with 'Fill Window'.
Close the Window Manager settings.
Open Chrome and try the new 'Fill Window' shortcut key combination.
Let us know.
