Resolving the issues that are preventing a fresh install might be more productive and it might have helped if you had stated that it was a non-standard install when posting the symptoms on 20th July.

Thank you.  I recalled the post - but not the details.
A quick search in the 'Installing Linux Lite' and 'Updates' sections had failed to find anything.

The post warns that it can result in an unpredictable system with unsupported complications.

When I try to install just casper, this is what I get.

Not sure why you are trying this as casper isn't really the problem.
If I understand correctly the conflict is due to the presence of lupin-casper (focal only) on a (mainly) jammy system.
