From what I understand, Ubuntu removed lupin-casper from version 22.04 and it is not in the jammy repository.
A clean install of LL 6.x shouldn't include lupin-casper.

Can you tie the start of the problem to a specific event or has it always been an issue since install ?

Thank you.  I recalled the post - but not the details.
A quick search in the 'Installing Linux Lite' and 'Updates' sections had failed to find anything.

The post warns that it can result in an unpredictable system with unsupported complications. ---But still suggests getting help in the forum.

If I understand correctly the conflict is due to the presence of lupin-casper (focal only) on a (mainly) jammy system. That is what I am thinking too...

It's not really a problem with wording a question. Even if the casper update conflict can be resolved (most things are possible), the system remains unsupported with potential for more latent problems to pop up. --unsupported meaning no help from forum or just that it's been modified to a point that it would be difficult to figure out.
