Linux Lite Updates recommender

I'm confused ... I'm in the middle of installing updates after reinstalling Linuxlite because I could no longer connect using the wireless card ... I hardwired an Ethernet cable and am back on the internet but now I want to install updates ... how do I know if I have the latest version?  Can someone help me get my wireless card to work again (my computer is an old gateway brought back to life with Linux ... was windows xp).  thanking you in advance

You should start your own thread I would think. Describe your machine with A link to machine model and specifications.

terminal report in your thread to show what chip your wireless uses. If it is usb wireless.
