The grub version number and the text before the grub prompt might help diagnose what the problem is.
Is it the grub error message part of which reads "minimal BASH like line editing is supported" ? If so, google found plenty of articles about this with suggested fixes.

However if grub is confused about boot partitions right after a new install it may be quicker to re-install following the instructions. Take particular care around the BIOS EFI choices.
