my problem is a mechanical problem with the power button that turns the pc on, ha ha , i have to reach inside the pc with one hand and gently push forward with one finger and press the power button with the other finger on the front, lol, i made a funny video of it , but have yet to upload it. in the mean time i either need to replace the switch(i think thats what one calls it) if its replaceable, or buy a new desktop PC.
this is why i am looking for a portable email client, that works from a USB only,
for example "thunderbird portable",
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/t...d_portable

the question is , what portable email client you suggest i try ?.
i dont want to use the thunderbird email client already installed with this linux lite, for security reasons, in case the method i am using to power the pc on every morning no longer works (i turn the pc off before i go to bed)
Replacing the power switch button isn't that difficult. Also, you could get a second hand case and move your pc to that one. Regarding portable apps, I used to use this https://portableapps.com/ mind you I used on windows so not sure whether it works on Linux, in fact I just check on that webpage and it works via wine, however, you can use Linux Lite with persistence https://www.freecinema2022.gq/manual/tutor...ml#usbpers this will allow you to carry your system wherever you go in a USB stick, not only an e-mail client but the whole OS.
Hope this helps!
