That's rough. Mine isn't that bad, but she does get wicked impatient. Like I said recently in another post, they just want the damn thing to work. Explanations don't impress them, especially if intended to show off one's geekiness (or pseudo-geekiness, in my case).
Off the top of my head, she has an i5 with 6GB ram, and 1TB HDD. It's a very nice Dell Inspiron N7010. 64 bit Windows 7. I've replaced the HDD, put two batteries in and a new keyboard. Works like new, although it's about 7 years old. I have a lot of experience with dual-booting, but as I said this is for hers, not mine. Heck, I almost welcome welcome when mine goes bad, it gives me something to do. But with hers, I'm starting to get nervous just thinking about it...
