In my humble opinion, a light distro should be light in all aspects, so cumbersome programs should be replaced with their light equivalents and then the distribution itself will also weigh less. My suggestions are as such: instead of a slow and heavy monster Firefox-browser it is better to take an open-source Chromium-browser, as now Firefox has difficulties with installing browser addons; instead of huge Thunderbird it is better to take fast and light Geary as a mail client - like in ZorinOS, and instead of Gimp it is better to take Pinta.
As for the default set of icons I suggest a set of icons by Numix, which has two similar flat kits - round icons and square icons. In the Papirus icon set there are not all the required icons, besides they are not always correctly displayed when the user changes the colour of the desktop theme. What I like most in the Numix icons is that the icons of the trash-bin have two colours - red for the full trash-bin and green for the empty trash-bin, so it is very convenient to monitor the fullness of the trash-bin. One can also use colored folders by Numix.
To install and see the Numix icons one should enter only one command in the terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:numix/ppa && sudo apt update && sudo apt install numix-gtk-theme numix-icon-theme numix-icon-theme-circle numix-icon-theme-square numix-folders -y
I hope, you will enjoy this set of icons. I think, these icons are much more prettier than the default icon theme in LL 4.0. And don't forget to cache the icon set after installing it!
