Another one for LL.

[member=6733]TheDead[/member]  I used the minimal iso which takes quite some time to install since it has to download many packages, but it did installed flawlessly on my VM.
Quote:I downloaded the latest 64 bits one. 1.9GB ISO. Same stupid thing, NEEDS internet connection and downloads everything to install, again...
Sorry for the letters but, WTF, I downloaded a 1.9GB iso, for what for then?
Also install takes f-o-r-e-v-a-a-a-a-r (hours) ! - still not done at the moment... waiting. Doing some knitting... working on my bonzai... done!
Did you use the 18.1 iso? That's the latest  one.
Quote:At least the OS is all up to date. Eek, some menu items have no names or descriptions...
There's less applications than Linux Lite and I'm getting slow response times.
Not impressed. Maybe with another Desktop Environment... but XFCE + Whisker is a must for me.
I installed whisker menu and haven't had any issues so far. So I've no idea what could've gone wrong in your box, but yes it takes a lot of time because when system's finally installed you end with an up to date system. I actually like the fact that it doesn't have many packages; the less the better for me Smile One of my favourite distros is CentOS 7 minimal iso so I can install as many or as few packges as I want.  8)
Quote:Hours-long installations is one reason (of many) I'm steering away from Windows. - Sorry Antergos! -DELETE
Yes it can be a no for some people but once you have it installed and running then you can enjoy ARCH repositories, specially the AUR, and pacman is such a great package manager; in my experience pacman and yum are both great package managers. I'm having quite some fun with it Smile
Without each others help there ain't no hope for us Smile
