Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a nice life! Smile

I recently came across this article at Fossybytes.com titled "10 Best Lightweight Linux Distros For Old Computers | 2018 Edition" in which its author, and co-founder of the site Adarsh Verma talks about "Which are the best lightweight Linux distributions for 2018?"

I started to read it and it just happens that LL is mentioned in third place, and the author says:

He even says that

At the bottom of the article author gives some final words, he says:
Quote:keeping in mind the easy installation and hassle-free experience, I’ll recommend you to use Bodhi Linux, Ubuntu MATE, or Linux Lite on your old computer.

So I think it is great seeing this kind of articles around the web talking big words and recommending LL as a great choice of a distro.

Speaking of Bodhi, I read today that their desktop uses about one-third of the resources that Xfce does.  I wonder if a "Linux Extra-Lite" might be possible using that amazing desktop?

Moshka desktop is quite lightweight but when I tried Bodhi back in 2016 found it not as intuitive and customizable as XFCE and I didn't like the way it displays menus; seemed quite messy to me. I wonder now if it'd support whisker menu, in fact I think am going to try it out in a VM and see how that goes.  8)  Here's a Moshka desktop's screenshot from that time I tried bodhi.

I really do love my Xfce!  I'm just hoping to keep a reeeeeeally old, ancient, relic desktop out of the landfill for as long as I can.  It's running a stripped-down homemade version of ubuntu-core with LXDE desktop.

I think I read the same article.  Even though it's another one that categorizes LL for old computers, I'll accept the mention.

I thought the exact same thing, but I also think people might guess that if it works great on old computers, if would do greater on newer ones. I know I would. The most important thing is the more they talk about LL the more people know about it  Smile

I tried Linux Lite out at first because of the name, "LITE."  For me that the most important thing at the time.

I tried Linux Lite for these reasons:

1) Spatry endorsed it.
2) It had a familiar looking menu.
3) The help manual was comprehensive.
4) I wanted to make the transition to Linux, and I felt the above reasons would help to make it happen.

I stay with Linux Lite mainly for this reason:
The forum.  Cooperation and suggestions from forum users help make Linux Lite better each year.
