Hey [member=6733]TheDead[/member] that was quite some work lol
I picked one of my favorite hobbies up and been playing around with a few VMs; Antergos 17.12, Bodhi 4.4.0, SolidX 9, Fedora 27 LXDE and XFCE, CentOS 7 (core)+ XFCE, Redcore Linux (Gentoo based) , Mint 18.3, LL 3.8, Puppy Linux (xenialpup), Porteus-Kiosk 4.6.0, Slackware, Q4OS 3.1, MX-Linux 17, AntiX 17, Kali Linux Light, Tuxtrans and Zorin Lite. That was what I thought of trying to install whisker menu on bodhi, but I didn't want to go as far as you did lol
Did you get rid of enlightment? I thought of doing that and replace the whole thing with XFCE but...too much work :; if I want XFCE DE I use a XFCE Distro or something like Antergos minimal, slackware, CentOS minimal and install it, way much better and easier than trying to change a lot of stuff.
Quote:After installing 6 Linux Lite laptops this week end I had some time left
Steps:
- Installed Bodhi 4.1.0 + XFCE + Whisker.
- Remove Midori/Terminology and installed FireFox and XFCE Terminal. After reboot, *158MB* RAM used. Yay!
- Updated manually all visible apps from Terminal. +reboot.
- Installed my personnal apps and additional updates from Bodhi eeupdater. +reboot.
- Kernel at 4.8.034 and using *161MB* after all this. That's a tie with PeppermintOS, the lowest XFCE based distro I tried

Quote:Used the rest of the weekend to browse the interweebs. Seemed stable, but again I do NOT recommend other than for fun and giggles.
Project notes :
- eeupdater icons (in program) dissapeared.
- had to change XFCE theme to Arc to fix some displays.
- other interface displays are just messed up (epulse, etc.)
- you CANNOT remove Chromium as it will also remove everything else in the Bodhi "app-pack" package.

Without each others help there ain't no hope for us
