Have tried Keyboard set up for various types (Amilo, 102 Int, 105 Int ) with number lock unticked in settings and rebooted each time without result. Then tried TWEAKS number lock options, rebooting between each one . No improvement. Have to type now with Fn key permanently depressed ( as I am at th moment)

On the positive side, having carries out Synaptic instruction - see above - and pressing the Fn key for password to compensate or he keyboard problem, i got the system to update. however still have Fn problem
