Linuxlite 2.4 install - can't set UK keyboard as default
#2
Have Amilo Pro V3405 UK keyboard set up.

A) find keyboard icon at bottom tight hand of screen, Right click and choose preferences
Open Input Method  tab - Tick "customize active input methods"

Select an input method and choose English - English (UK extended winkeys) and press "+Add" button
This should then appear in the "input method"  box below

If in that box you already have English US - highlight this and  press the "X Delete" button.  This should remove the English US option.

Press Close

Then  go to

B) Menu/settings/keyboard
Choose "Layout" Tab
Make sure that the "Use System Defaults" option remains UNTICKED

Keyboard Model
Set to "Generic 102-key (intl) PC

Make sure that both the "Change Layout Option " and "Compose Key" option remain blank.

The Keyboard Layout Box below should just read English (UK)

Close the Box

and reboot the computer.

On restarting the computer open  menu/office/new Document  and test you keyboard has the correct layout  numbers  qwertyuiop - uppercase numbers "£$%^&*()_+
@ etc are where they should be.

NOTE The  Fujitsu Amilo Keyboard option did NOT work for me

Hope the above works for you.

Not all the ancillary keys work for me but good enough - all the main functions work OK.
