updates error - could not get lock

Hi

This is similar to the error log I had recently, which resolved itself - but here it is again, so maybe I need to do something ?

(by the way I do make a regular donation to linux lite) thanks for your help

Only if you get this message *every* time do you need to check for something else wrong.

If you wait a while and then it works, all is well and it is just a clash of two things needing the resource at the same time.

If you get this message often - but not every time - it suggests you may be routinely doing something (like starting a manual update or running a package manager like Synaptic) while a background update task is also running.
If so, just changing the timing of either your manual operation or the background task may reduce the clashes.

You can check how often your system is set try to run a background check by right clicking the Package Update Manager icon near the bottom right of the screen and then selecting 'Preferences'
