Wine and associated apps
#1
When I search for wine in synaptic package manager,
I find quite a number of applications such as
wine-stable, wine, wine64, wine-menu-linuxlite, etc.

Which ones do I need to install in order to run some
relatively simple Windows programs ?

Also, do I need to install steam as well ?

I use Lite Software (under Settings) rather than Synaptics as my first port of call for installing any packages as the interface is simple.

When installing Wine from Lite Software there was no ambiguity and the installed version is working well for me.

I don't use Steam but it is an option under Lite Software.

Best answer to the OP. Linux Lite is built to be simple and intuitive with Lite Software and Lite Tweaks. The learning curve is not steep.
