EPSON EPL-5700i Laser Printer (Not Working)
#1
Try as I may, I can't get my EPSON EPL-5700i Laser Printer to work via CUPS, etc. The printer is a bit on the old side, but it was recently tested with the latest possible drivers available on Windows 2000 and works flawlessly. Now Linux Lite recognizes the printer and I have tried both the readily available PPDs for the 5700 and 5700L but the printer just won't print. I even tried traveling through time to get this:

without any luck. Anyone have any insight that might lead me to a working solution. I've tried both USB and Parallel port connections.

I did find a somewhat newer driver here:

https://qa.debian.org/watch/sf.php/epson...-0.4.1.tgz

and while it did compile and install without issue, attempting their print sample failed with:
