The subject kinda tells my problem. When I installed 4.0 Live on my FAT32 16gb USB stick, I started with a 6gb partition because that is the max the installer would let me choose. Some how my partition got filled up. casper -rw is over 4gb. So reading about gparted it seemed safe to resize the partition. So I booted my LiLi 3.8 (also on a USB Stick), once booted I plugged in my LiLi 4.0 USB Stick, started gparted, chose Resize--the menu seemed very straight forward. It would not allow me resize the total remaining free space--so I had to leave 1mb a unallocated. There were no errors. However now when I try to boot my 4.0 I only get a blank screen.
I would post some screenshots--but I don't know what would be helpful.
Is there anything I can do to restore my 4.0. or do I need to wipe and reinstall?

Hi [member=7553]rondi[/member] ,
You need more than 6Gb, 16Gb may be enough - 32Gb is better.
Format the USB stick before installing LL and when you install it, don't let the installer format it again.
That is: When the installer comes to the partitioning thing, first choose 'Do something else', then
choose your formatted space in the USB, and then choose the format - which in this case is FAT/FAT32
and use mount point '/'
But DO NOT check the the 'Format' button/option, just proceed with those settings..
Let me know if it helped

Thanks kpanic. I guess I did not word my post very well--I meant to ask if there was a way to restore the USB stick that I used gparted to expand the 6gb partition to the full (usable) 14.5 gb. I gave up and just reinstalled 4.0 on another USB stick earlier today. I'm not sure what I did in the previous install, but I did as you suggested and did not run the Format selection in the installer. Now all I have to do is reinstall the printer driver, and other apps I had installed in failed repartition stick. My installer does not ask for partition selection. I am using Universal USB Installer, which asks what size you want the persistence file. The other installers I had tired do not ask that, and most that I tired do not provide persistence.
Thanks for your help, I'll mark this solved.
