Inclusion of x-apps
#1
LL 3.6 comes preloaded with softwares like VLC,and ristretto for media playback and image preview. They are purely solving the purpose. That's true.

But beside that the X-App project from the Linux Mint team (pardon me) is gaining popularity these days. They are stable and works fine on different distros.

I personally use them on my LL installation. Can someday it can be a official inclusion as default apps in LL? What others think of it??

It seems like rebranding what already exists.  I don't see the full benefit yet, but never say never.  Their polished versions might become the new defaults in Linux.

Linux Masters please correct me if I say stupid things...
If I'm not mistaken and did not dream this. I think the new Ubuntu will go back to a Gnome desktop environment (DE).
Maybe X-Apps will have more support and become more popular since getting more people informed about different DE's. Like the olde quote "Standards are so wonderfull, there are so many of them!" Wink

Cheers!
