Languages allowed for use in the forum
#1
Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a nice life! Smile  Hope this is the right place for this post. I recently noted that there's no a Spanish Linux Lite forum version/site, and  I was wondering, what if someone who only speaks Spanish installs LL and needs some support/help with something? Can he/she come to the forum and post his/her questions in Spanish? Or is it English the one and only language to be used for that purpose? I also think this might be a deal-breaker for some Spanish-speaking people as they might find that as an abridgment which keep them from installing such a wonderful OS as LL. I know there's an Ubuntu Spanish forum and people may get some help over there, but it may comes the time when someone gets into some specific LL related issue and you guys could just have the right answer/advice for that person. Not even the help manual is available in Spanish and/or any other language it seems. So, are/is there any rule(s) regarding what language(s) should be used in the forum? I don't see any on the forum posting guidelines I'll be more than happy to help translating LL help manual into Spanish for a start by the way.

Well, thanks in advance for your answers/opinions. Smile

There's still a lot of work to do and things to correct but I'm enjoying myself while having a hard time remembering all of the HTML coding I learnt in the past, and I just came to realize I've almost forgotten everything  :Smile It's a long way to walk from here, I know but I want to do it, and I will! Woohoo! Thanks [member=2]Jerry[/member] I'm sure this is a plus+ Spanish-speaking people will certainly appreciate. I noticed there's now a language section in the Forum. Great work! This way the community will grow for sure and non English-speaking users will feel more confident when trying LL.  ;D

[member=2]Jerry[/member] This may prove to be a terriffic addition to the forum. LL is making inroads every day in south and central America. There is a Portugese homage to LL already in existence used by some institutions in Brazil. I can't recall the OS name at the moment. I wish my Spanish was better but I was not raised bi-lingual. My mother was from Barbados and spoke an Island dialect and my father though native born Puerto Rican spoke German, so English was the family compromise language. There were times when I don't think my father wanted to know what my mother was saying to him anyway. I have snitches and snatches of both languages in me so I will enjoy making an attempt at following some of the questions.

[member=7109]Moltke[/member] Many thanks for any effort you put into this. A really good idea!

The Linux OS from Brazil is called 'DuZeru'. It was mention in the forum a few years back. If you've ever used Linux Lite 1.0.6 or 1.0.8 DuZeru was very close to it. If you want to read up on it you can search that OS in DistroWatch.

Thanks for also adding German, French and Dutch languages forums!

I always liked learning languages and try to watch movies/series in the original versions.
Still have trouble to distinguish Dutch from German though...

Cheers!
