Linux Lite 3.6
#1
Have just installed Linux Lite 3.6 and it seems to this oldman that the OS just seems to be getting better and better all the time. Outstanding work by everyone yet again. Big thanks!
Old and getting even older lol

Your blogspot, detailing your personal reflections on Linux Lite, makes a great read...
Many thanks for writing it  Wink

I agree with your comments about "Compiz" - just slows things down on old machines, and, in my own experience, doesn't always play well with any conkies I have on my desktop.  Though I have to admit that wobbly windows and rotatable cube-shaped desktops, in Compiz, are initially very impressive, I find the special graphics effects are a bit of a 5-minute wonder from which I soon tire.  Though looking good is important (LL looks wonderful), I find excessive eye-candy distracting and somewhat irritating after a while...

64bit OS (32-bit on Samsung[i] netbook) installed in [i]Legacy mode on MBR-formatted SSDs (except pi which uses a micro SDHC card):
2017 - Raspberry pi 3B (4cores) ~ [email protected] - LibreElec, used for upgrading our Samsung TV (excellent for the task)
2012 - Lenovo G580 2689 (2cores; 4threads] ~ [email protected] - LL3.8/Win8.1 dual-boot (LL working smoothly)
2011 - Samsung NP-N145 Plus (1core; 2threads) ~ Intel Atom [email protected] - LL 3.8 32-bit (64-bit too 'laggy')
2008 - Asus X71Q (2cores) ~ Intel [email protected] - LL4.6/Win8.1 dual-boot, LL works fine with kernel 4.15
2007 - Dell Latitude D630 (2cores) ~ Intel [email protected] - LL4.6, works well with kernel 4.4; 4.15 doesn't work

I too have three systems on 3.6, two are 32-bit which were upgraded.  My 64-bit was a full load.  All are running well.  Kudos to the staff.
