Windows Opened, Not Appearing In The Center...
#1
... I have the window placement set on 'Center' in the settings, which should mean that any time you open a window such as the File Manager
it should open right in the center of my screen... Right?  Well, it does not. It is always opening in some corner and need to drag it into the center.

Can this be fixed to do what the settings SAY it should do?

Smile Hi PinStripe

Have you also moved the smart placement slider as follows.

Window Manager Tweaks > Minimum size of windows to trigger smart placement > move slider to "large" all the way to the right.

I had moved it a little but I thought that was going to make the windows larger, so I didn't bother moving too far.
Now that you said this, I did it and it works. Thanks!

Looks like a feature people want. Consider it done in 3.6+

I kind of like the default.  If I open Thunar, and nothing else I open, it'll be placed in the upper left corner.  If I open a tab afterwards, it'll be placed in the upper right corner, or wherever there is the most remaining space.  With the proposed setting, each newly opened window is placed in the center on top of the one(s) that was(were) there before.

But if I'm out voted on this, at least I know the setting to make it like it is now.

Well then, YOU can go into settings and change it to the way you like it.
I know several people who want the window to pop up in the middle.

You're imitating Captain Obvious.  I said the same thing in the last sentence of my post.

Is this the default behavior in Windows? Can someone please verify this? Thank you.
