Mixed language in menu's and applications.

Okay, here's the deal.

After installing LL3.0 i added my own language to Language acc this: https://www.freecinema2022.gq/manual/install.html#setlang.

I moved my language to the top, pressed Apply system-wide buttons on both tabs and did a reboot. Instead of changing ALL entries to my native language, i'm now stuck with a system which is partially Dutch and partially English.

How can this be fixed? Or is this a bug? And beside that, why is LL not able to set language right in the first place, like during the setup when you have to select your native language. All other *buntu and *buntu-based distro's are capable of doing so, but LL is the only distro not capable doing this??

But the question remains:
How can this be fixed? Or is this a bug?

Try going to session and startup and delete all saved sessions, reboot, then apply your language change, tick save session and reboot. I had some friends encounter an issue like this a while back with KDE workspace. In the old days of bash this was usually a run level issue. Some current black screen issues and application backgrounding discussed here can be traced to the same problem.

I have the same, some parts are in Dutch and others are in English. I think that not all has been translated into Dutch.

Look through your installed packages in synaptic. Is everything in Dutch? Check the Debian dependencies and the Dutch language packages. It may be a package specific problem, and even could be something as simple as icon sets. Go to the startup session menu again. You may have to allow gnome. I am not sure of the xfce language support myself. Been a while since I used it regularly except in linux lite. I will check into your issue today, but as far as I know the Debian support in Dutch is complete in stable. It would be nice to know which particular packages are not in Dutch.

If i look at description in synaptic then i notice that some are in Dutch and some are in English

Another thing to remember in XFCE, if I remember it correctly is that language support is optional by user, which means it does not run until login. I remember there being an option display at login, though I am not sure this occurs in linux lite. In this case (linux lite) the session and startup menu may come into play again. I'll get back to you later.

Explanation. Some will be in English because I've renamed some of the entries eg. Leafpad appears as Text Editor, that in turn may not pick up any translations. The Lite menu entries don't have any translations yet, in the future they will, but there is nothing now, we are a young distribution, we'll get there. Language during install, I'm aware of this, you and others have brought it up before, and I am working on it. If there is any change, I'll be sure to let the community know, but for now, thats just the way it is. Cheers

I don't buy this answer, and you why? You never will make me believe that, for instance,  the Apply button in Synaptic has never been translated into the Dutch word Toepassen. Or that all LibreOffice entries are still using the English program titles in their menu entry instead of the Dutch program titles (i.e. writer instead of tekstverwerker). 

The standard applications like LO, Synaptic, Xfburn and many more used on LL which can be found an many other distro's are all translated into Dutch. I believe it has something to do with the repositories LL is using meaning that some translation packages are missing which can be found in other repositories. But not sure though...

About the specific Lite applications and tools i can believe it and accept your explanation. But then explain why under Synaptic the Apply button doesn't translate into Dutch which is the case when i install Ubuntu or Mint or any other *buntu-based distro?
