Why Ubuntu? Why Linux Lite?

I am curious why others here chose Ubuntu and Linux Lite?  I'll go first. 

I chose the Ubuntu family because it appeared to be the most popular for newbies and desktops.  I chose Linux Lite because I thought it would be best for transitioning folks in my sphere of influence over to Linux.  Since I'm a newbie myself, I also like the support, the documentation, and the roadmap of where the Linux Lite distro is headed.  When I find myself selling someone on the benefits of Linux, these things make it an easy sell.

Why did you choose Ubuntu LTS and Linux Lite?

A few years ago was just sick to the back teeth with Windows and started with Linux.

Started with Ubuntu 11.04 and never looked back.

Currently using Linuxlite 2.4 a great Linux distro.

Personally I had been a windows xp user and when it was announced that Microsoft was discontinuing support for xp I decided the time to switch to an open source operating system was good.  I tried Ubuntu 12.04 first and Debian and a few others before finding Linux Lite.  Ubuntu had Unity which I really don't like, I prefer a desktop environment like XFCE.  Debian felt like pulling teeth every time I wanted to change something. I tried LXDE based distros but they didn't have the ease of customization I was looking for. Most of the other distros that I tried were not intuitive and it was easier to find a more intuitive one than to read through countless pages on the internet to try to figure out how to do what I wanted to do with my computer. So when I found Linux Lite it was at version 2.0 and I have been with it every day since.  It just works.

I had dabbled in Linux occasionally over the years, but couldn't handle the learning curve, compiling kernels, playing driver games, etc. Then, I stumbled across Ubuntu 11.04. At last, a Linux that installed everything smoothly!

Ubuntu's Unity was snail-slow, so I went to Lubuntu from 11.10 on, because it was faster. I then found LL in early 2014. Been here ever since...

I just got sick to death of Windows consistently hanging, slow with questionable security - in other words the usual suspects! What sold me on Ubuntu 5 years ago was firstly, the security, stability and secondly, the speed. It just worked. I was checking the reviews of LL and was impressed with all the favourable reviews and knowing it was based on the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS platform, it was a no-brainer. Also, there were many things I don't use in Ubuntu so LL was the perfect fit. I haven't looked back!

Yep, sure do. I also have  AntiX 15 working on a touchscreen. I run the latest kernel on that laptop and touchscreen works.
On my AntiX install. I am running the 3.16 kernel and my touchscreen works on my Atom Netbook . Below is a readout in code showing my touchscreen in the Atom netbook . Which is a M&A Companion touch.

Did you know? I require no /etc/X11/xorg.conf for my touchscreens to work. It was a surprise to  me also.
