[SOLVED] Install LL on a Acer Aspire One. Model ZG5.
#1
Is it possible to install LL 2.2 on this computer. I refer to the display resolution is only 1024 x 600 And in the official guide says 1024X768

Hi Snubbi,

I put LL 2.0 on a dying ZG5 early Dec and not only does it work but works well,

I don't know where the wife has put it, but when I find it I'll check the resolution.

You can always run a live ISO first,

Then I must first make a USB Stick with the ISO file, and then boot up. There is no DVD drive on the computer. I have never tried this Smile although I have used Linux for many many years

It is not my own computer, it's an older lady who comes to our Linux Party on January 20 along with 8 others who would like to have installed Linux, and it will of courseĀ  be LL which will be installed on their computers Smile

the resolution on my ZG5 is 1024x600 and is working perfect. this is on version 2.0

I have just tried version 2.2 live and that works ok as well.

I use UNetbootin to make a live usb (should be in the repos)

The ZG5 is well known for not liking some usb sticks, so if it does not work just try another one (if you have an extra one)

Good luck

Keith

Hello!

I have run everything from 1.0.8 to 2.2 on an HP netbook with a 1024x600 screen with no issues.

Windows 8/8.1? I have to use the registry hack to get the minimum resolution - 1024x768 - for Metro apps...
