dual boot order Windows 7 / LL
#1
I was pleasantly surprised how easy to load LL in a dual boot configuration with another operating system but I think I need to do it a little differently on my wife's Windows 7 computer. If I add LL to her machine the way I did it on mine and she presses the power button LL will come up by default. How do I make it so Windows comes up by default so I don't make my wife mad?

One way I do this is by burning Rescatux on an ISO , than fix& upgrade grub on LL if you will , than do the same on Windows in order to have Win on 1st boot . Here s the link ;

Some have other ways of doing this , but they ll show you how , I don t know these ways around this .

delmar,

I've not used it myself, but have heard good things about Grub Customizer.  Follow directions shown here to install it to the system.  Not sure where it ends up in the menu, but probably under "System" category.  That should be the easiest way to change the default boot choice from LL to Windows.

Hello!

Grub Customizer will let you change the default OS, change fonts (careful!), add an image to GRUB screen, and more. I add it every time I install a Linux OS.

NOTE: If you use boot-repair to fix a broken bootloader, it uninstalls Grub Customizer. As a result, you'll have to reinstall it after your boot is fixed...
