Will there be one in the future? I don't know yet. I would like to reiterate, that if you have a working, stable operating system there is no compelling reason to upgrade. Now that we have our own repo, it will be easier in the future to create a package that upgrades you, eg. sudo apt-get install lite-upgrade (or similar).Cheers.

Thanks, Valtam. I'll download 2.2 when available to a DVD and try it out to see if there is any need to upgrade to it. Also, I'll watch for reviews to see if the reviewer sees anything I missed.  8)

Hello!

I seem to be missing something here somewhere, so I'll ask:

What are the enhancements in 2.2 over the current version and are they worth doing a reinstall for once it is released, or is it simply enhancements to the installer (Ubiquity)?

Thanks for asking again, Rob. That was what I wanted to know.  Big Grin

Also, what is the change in the  installer (Ubiquity)? I did not think the installer could get any easier.

That is what I was trying to find out. I may already have 2.2 except for the number.  8)  When the details are released I can decide if I need to install 2.2.

Hello!

Okey-dokey...

The 14.04.2 LTS Kernel, based on 14.10, will be coming out soon. Will it be rolled into LL 2.2?

LL 2.2 will rock whichever kernel is current at release time, around 3.13.0-24. If you require a newer kernel for unsupported hardware, you can always pick one from the LL repo.
