Canon also supply a programme ScanGearMP to run the scanner
go here http://support-asia.canon-asia.com/c...100551901.html to download scangearmp-mg2500series-2.20-1-deb.tar.gz and close the terminal from above; reopen and then
Code:
cd Downloads
tar -zxvf scangearmp-mg2500series-2.20-1-deb.tar.gz
cd scangearmp-mg2500series-2.20-1-deb
run ScanGearMP with
Code:
scangearmp
I even set up a launcher and got it to work.
As for the printer, it turns out that apparently just plugging it in worked. it was automatically recognized in Linux Lite. sometime between January 2014 and today the printer software got updated to included the drivers for my printer.
So it all worked on it's own. I was silly for even posting.
