Programs flashing, start up, unable to use Lite 5.0
#1
I have downloaded and install all the latest updates (itbtook about 4 hours, I'va a very slow internet connection).

Everything worked fine for another 2-3 hours then my Firefox browser started flashing on and off as well as the file manager, my Home directory and some popup (or other left click dialogue box with about five entries but I was ubable to read them) and any other program I had open as well as some I did nt ooen.

Absolutely impossible to work with this happeninh. I used the CTRL+ALt+Del4 times to get out of the problem but on getting back into the system the same thing happened again, eacjh time.

Any suggestions, please.

Linux Lite 5.0 is certainly not as easy to use as Windows 10 inspite of all the microsoft issues. I looked at installing upgrading to  lite 5.02 but it really seemed quite daunting so didn't go that route - yet!

Thanks for your help, Moltke but it seems to have resolved itself after 24 hours. I don't know why it just did.

Glad it's "solved", hopefully, it won't appear again. However, I do have a couple of questions:
1. What's the primary GPU? Nvidia or Intel?
2. Are you using Nvidia drivers?

Nvidia, I believe but not sure,
Drivers are whatever was installed by Linux Liye.

I am 75 years old and really I just want an operating system that does not need any work. I am afraid that linux lite is not realy for me as it requires much more work than Widows 10 (in spite of its sshortcomings!).

I have spent the last 8 hours or more trying to get my Mozilla Firefox userChrome saved in the correct location but have been unable to do so.
Again, I installed Grub Customizer but that has failed to increase the font size in Grub.
I find that many items in Linux Lite are too small to read and there doesn't seem to be a way to increase the size; the Applications list, some of the items in the panel at the top of the screen  for example.
Much as I would like to use Linux lite I feel it requires to much work and it is not a system which workks well "out of the box" so to speak. Further more, I find that the file system and its permissions highly complicted and certainly not as simple as the Windows system.

Anyway, many thanks for your help.
Foxcub.
