VMware Workstation 16 New?
#1
So the new VMware workstation 16 came out the other day and I'm trying to get it installed.

Unfortunately I still need windows to run some programs for work since they wont play nice with wine.

I'm using LL 5.0 with kernel 5.7.0 from the LL Tweaks.

"After installation I click on VMware Workstation and it gives me this error.
Before you can run VMware, several modules must be compiled and loaded into the running kernel
GCC 5.4.0 was not found."

I don't want to do anything that breaks anything.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

System Specs:
AMD x570 Chipset, AMD Ryzen 3800x, 32GB DDR4 4000 RAM, AMD 5700XT Video Card, 1TB M.2 PCIe 4x drive
Goliath - Threadripper 3960x, 64GB DDR4 3200, 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2, 6TB HDD for Games, Creative AES 7 Soundcard, AMD 5700XT

Work Machine - Lenovo 13 Ryzen 4750U, 16GB DDR4, 2TB PCIe 3.1 M.2

Probably won't work with that kernel. If you don't need that kernel boot into a previous stock kernel and try installation again.

5.5 and 5.6 didn't work either but 5.4 did.  Weird.

The same is for VirtualBox, it will only support up to a certain kernel version.
