LL 5 on Newer AMD Ryzen Laptops no go?
#1
I have a Dell G5 with Ryzen 4800H w/built in Vega iGPU AND Radeon 5600M 6GB video card built in.

When I put in the boot stick it always stops at "amdgpu error fail to stop psp ring"

Any ideas?  Dying to get linux on this beast of a machine.

Not so sure about this one. In my research to date it has been done but no clear method presented.
FYI - my methods for buying hardware ensures I never run into these kind of issues. I choose my hardware (laptop or desktop) see if those components have linux support, and if it's in a Store, I'll take a LL USB with me and see if it boots Live.

The only ideas I have are: read this thread:

https://www.phoronix.com/forums/forum/li...fx-timeout
There are some ideas there.

Second, and I guess would be better to test this one:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/web/faq...tions.html

The parameter you need to pass at boot time, is nomodesetting.

I wish I could find some Linux Lite specifics in the manual, but I guess this is only kernel related...

Good luck! Smile

No luck yet.  I'll just keep Windows on it and Install LL as a VM.
