Awesome, I'm hoping it doesn't stop Install Update notifications. Please let me know over the next few days if it does or doesn't. Cheers Smile

[member=23307]Jacob Pertou[/member] further to my last post. It looks like it doesn't but to confirm, please do Menu, Favorites, Install Updates, let it get the list then when the list shows, cancel it. Then wait for the next Updates notification to come through and let me know please.

I have them disabled (I prefer to do it manually), so it's all good at my end.

Code:
sudo apt-get remove notify-osd notify-osd-icons

Log out and in again.

Thank you, yes, that fixed my "showing bell" issue.
I'll tell you if I notice Install Update notifications cease to work.

Regarding setup in LL5.0 for Canon MB5160 printer/scanner...
Scanning works out of the box in LL5.0.
Drivers/utilities packages can be downloaded from Canon websites for regions that distribute that model printer, e.g. https://www.canon.co.nz/printers/maxify-...on=drivers. The scanner package installs without issue, though it's not needed anyway. The printer package needs libcupsimage2, which I installed from the Ubuntu repositories using apt, then installed the Canon printer package (which also runs a utility to setup a printer) and all worked without issue.

Ngā mihi.

My screen is loading up unreadable on a  HP laptop. I loaded Lite three times to be sure.
I tried to post here with a picture but that will not work, if anyone wants a picture please email me.
I am also getting the wrong characters when I use shift plus a number.

if you have a youtube account, then take your smart phone, use the camera thats on it , record from start to finish of your HP laptop, sometimes watching something in video gives more of a idea of what might be going on, thats what i did , on my Asus desktop 64bit PC, it would show a funny mixed image while booting up, also shows it when i restart it, after it finished it was fine, but does this every time , so i decided to do another fresh install of Linux lite 5.0, but before i did that..... i disabled secure boot , (dont do this) the results were the same, a few days later , i re-enabled(turned back on) secure boot, it still was the same, ha ha , just me messing around on my pc, it never did this on Linux lite 3 or 4 series , so maybe when the next update for example linux lite 5.2(or what ever) it will get fixed. it happens,
