I have had this happen also. how did you install it? If you haven't tried it this way, it might be worth a shot: go to Tor's homepage, and download the Debian (.deb) file for Linux. Linux Lite comes with a .deb installer, which should have no problem with the file. If your LL does not have the Debian installer, you can install that using Synaptic Package Manager, but I'm pretty sure it's included by default. (You may not be able find it in the start menu, but it's there).

Download the version ending in .deb. When downloaded, you should be able to open the downloaded file and install it with Gdebi, which is the Debian package installer. you may need to right-click the file to open it. Or it may open automatically once the file is downloaded.

If for some reason you don't seem to have Gdebi on your system (again, you may not see it as it is a hidden file), you can install it from Synaptic. Yes, Synaptic is not the most visually appealing program, but it works, once you get the hang of it. when you know how to use it, you have access to thousands of programs.

Thanks very much.
I downloaded Tar by mistake but as soon as I downloaded the Deb file it installed easy.

Better to install it from Lite Software. Look for common, cross platform software there first.

But wouldnt run from there!

Howerver, I upgraded to Linux Lite 5.0, and it now does run from Lite software, so no problem.

You created Linux Lite?
It's a masterpeice than luddites like me can even use without needing to swot over the terminal all the time.
Thanks!

Doesn't work for me with Linux Lite 5.2 when I download it from the Software... it installs but won't open... same problem the other guy had.  Going to try the debian file.
