Pensioner has an Acer Aspire E5-511 (4GB RAM) 500 GB HDD 64 bit Intel CPU, currently on Win 10. Originally sold with Win 8
Given me 8GB USB stick on which I am to load LL4.2 for him to try out live i.e insert into usb port and boot up lappy without him having to do anything else. Trying to avoid confusion for him ( and me

).
Which Iso should I down load? EFi version or standard please.?
Thanks.

If you have it in hand, boot to the BIOS and confirm if it has UEFI/Secureboot - If so, YES to the UEFI.. Although I would assume the UEFI version should boot on either..
This links appears its UEFI..

As the E5 series.. and may have different??

Thank you firenoce03. Unfortunately I don't have the laptop to hand. So will play safe and go for UEFI version. Will come back later with outcome.

You can use the UEFI version regardless. If you don't have UEFI, then it falls back to BIOS mode.

If OEM OS was Windows 8 it is EFI. However if you are not dual booting you may be able to install the non-EFI version. The BIOS may offer the options.

Hi,
When one ISO if not enough...
If playing around with Multiple ISOs (and have a internal 2.5" HDD lying around
![Wink Wink](https://www.freecinema2022.gq/forums/images/smilies/wink.png)
) I use this to have multiple ISOs on a single HDD.
https://www.amazon.com/Iodd-Iodd2531-Bla...B00TDJ4BJU
It's a USB3 2.5" hardrive enclosure with an ISO selector. It's the same company that makes the identical Zalman model but reviews say firmware is better on the IODD.
I have also uses this if you only have one USB key. It's software but works on many ISO files :

Note : Some say that the key has to be less than 128GB, but I don't have a big a key to try.
Cheers!
