How do I move historic Calendar entries from LL3.8 to the LL4 series
#1

Hi Everyone,

I've been using the Calendar app, also known as Gnome-Calendar, for my appointments, etc.

Some time soon, I'd like to upgrade LL from 3.8 to 4 series on the Dell (see signature), but without losing all my historic calendar entries. Within LL's File System, I'm unsure where to go to do this ...

As always, any feedback's much appreciated ...
Thanks  8)
64bit OS (32-bit on Samsung[i] netbook) installed in [i]Legacy mode on MBR-formatted SSDs (except pi which uses a micro SDHC card):
2017 - Raspberry pi 3B (4cores) ~ [email protected] - LibreElec, used for upgrading our Samsung TV (excellent for the task)
2012 - Lenovo G580 2689 (2cores; 4threads] ~ [email protected] - LL3.8/Win8.1 dual-boot (LL working smoothly)
2011 - Samsung NP-N145 Plus (1core; 2threads) ~ Intel Atom [email protected] - LL 3.8 32-bit (64-bit too 'laggy')
2008 - Asus X71Q (2cores) ~ Intel [email protected] - LL4.6/Win8.1 dual-boot, LL works fine with kernel 4.15
2007 - Dell Latitude D630 (2cores) ~ Intel [email protected] - LL4.6, works well with kernel 4.4; 4.15 doesn't work

I don't use the calendar app for more than checking the date lol, but found this which might be useful to you :

Code:
https://help.gnome.org/users/evolution/stable/exporting-data-calendar.html.en

Also look here:

Code:
Look under ~/.local/share/evolution/calendar
It might be just a case of copying the data from there to a backup location and then copying it back after upgrade.

I use Evolution. I backed up my Evolution data in 3.8 by File>Back Up Evolution Data, to an external drive folder.

In LL 4.x I installed Evolution application and File>Restore Evolution Data  from the drive, and everything was there as before, though I had to re-enter email account passwords.

I hope this helps with your setup if it's similar.
