Funny thing happened tonight. August 2nd 2018 after a restoring. from a bunch of errors in package manager after installing something in Linux Lite 3.8 told me my system was never updated afterwards. I had updated Monday July 30th 2018 and used backup from that same day after update using system back thought it weired as never had a OS say such a thing in Windows or other wise. May be a bug with 16.04 base? Anyway everything is there after a backup., and as far as I know 18.04 is buggy at moment so not moving over just yet if at all. We will see. Why would the system say that? New.

What part of the system told you that you were not updated? Where did the message come from?

everything there as it was from July 30th after restoring from system back I am trying to give U a screen shot of what it said after restoring but I get errors. .png or jpg not work what photo type would work best on the form? What I have is a tweek that tells me my System info and Update Status. Before restore update status said 3 days since last update. Now after restoring it red saying system never updated. How ever everything is where was from Monday July 30th. if that helps?

[member=7628]Kory Scott[/member] Did you do an update BEFORE you created the restore point ? i.e. did you do an update before 30th July or did you install your linux lite and then create a restore point before doing any updates.
I think it is simply telling you there were no updates done before you created that restore point

[member=7644]DeepThought[/member] here is what I do every monday I do a update and a System back - backup. And on Thursdays I backup again to a external backup drive. This this the first time I had to do a restore Have had lite 3.8 up and running since March 2018 with no issues till then. I just found it strange that Monday July 30th it told me 3days since last updated the system and then once I had to do a restore because something mess up it now says system updated. every there as it was on monday when last update was done. That all.

[member=7628]Kory Scott[/member] I'm not 100% sure of this but I think I know what has happened. Your System info and Update Status info will be stored in your Home folder, so every time you update or change the system it will get updated, probably time and date stamped.
When you restored, your pc went back in time to July 30th, but your Home folder didn't as usually this is excluded from restore points to preserve your private files. So now System info and Update Status is reading info from your Home folder which is date/timestamped in a way not recognised so concludes you haven't done any updates. Once you do an update this info will be overwritten and you will be back to normal.

[member=7628]Kory Scott[/member] There's no need, this is just a notice to let you know something is not quite right. Once you do your next update the old info in your home folder will be updated and should show the correct info
