I've done a search for the answer and it must be something easy as I couldn't find any specific instructions for removing a camera SD card from my built-in computer card reader.
LL 4.o read the card beautifully & downloaded the photos with no problems but when I looked for a way to remove the card, I couldn't find one.
I probably need instructions for removing a flash drive also as I haven't tried using a flash drive yet!
Thanks in advance!

When in doubt just shut down the computer and then remove external storage devices.

Open File Manager; check on Devices - it should be listed.
Eject.
Note: Much safer to connect the camera to your computer instead of removing and inserting the card repeatedly. Wear and tear is thus reduced, and with it the risk of failure.

Thanks to both of you.
I think I'm going to have to shut down and remove the card.
In the file manager window I have 'Devices', 'Places' & 'Network'
Under 'Devices', there is only 'File System'. If I click on File System, there are a lot of folders with abbreviated names so I don't know which one to choose.
Under 'Places' the sub-folders are: a home icon with my computer name, 'Desktop', 'Trash' & 'Drives'
I can see a Generic-Multi_Card icon under 'Drives' but if i click on it, I get the message 'Failed to open Generic-Multi-Card - no medium in the drive'
Anyway, I just don't see any option to Eject the card even though it's still in the card reader.
As I said, I'll just shut down for now and take out the card.
richtea, thanks also for the advice about connecting camera instead of using the card.

If you haven't written anything onto the SD card you could just pull it out after the transfer.
