I take it you've tried to add the Abiword PPA at some point?

Right you are.  Should I just purge it?  Or have I created a bigger problem than that?

Abiword is already an available package in 4.0 Please consult the Help Manual regarding PPA's. I'd say 70% of the update problems on the Forums are due to people adding unsupported PPA's. I actually wish PPA's were abolished. Remove the PPA first, then do your updates. Is there a reason you need Abiword when LibreOffice provides so much more?

The reason I installed it was because I started writing some notes in lubuntu with abiword and wanted to continue writing with the formatting intact.  Turns out it didn't save the formatting anyway!!  I'll try to remove the PPAs.  Failing that I'll just reinstall linuxlite 4.0 fresh as all my stuff is on the cloud anyway.

Good luck, PPA removal is in the Help Manual if you like.
