How to get rid of "sessions"?
#1
At some point I hopefully will run out of questions!

On one of the five donated laptops/notebooks on which I have loaded LL 3.4 I inadvertently enabled "this" (see photo). Now each time I boot up the computer and go into my administrator user (I have also set up a second user) I get this message. I am trying to upload a photo, but in case it doesn't show up it is a white box in the middle of my screen that says:
                                                DEFAULT
                                                Last accessed: Sat Aug 12 11:28:24 2017

                                                Log Out                      New Session

I believe I double click on the session (Sat Aug...) which then is allowing me to continue and it goes away.

I tried going into the lite tweaks and going into manage sessions and disabling it for all users, however it is still popping up.  I'm not sure how to get rid of this happening and I forget what I did initially (it wasn't via the lite tweak) that I turned this on...

Any easy fixes?

Some settings you are looking for are in 'session and startup' and some are in 'lite tweaks'. They serve different purposes. Be sure of what you want to happen. I'm not on LL right now. Perhaps another user can walk you through it to your intended purpose.

I did something similar when I first had the XFCE desktop and found I could get rid of it in Linux Lite by going into Session and Startup. On the opening General tab of this program is a tick box under the sub heading Logout Settings for "Automatically save session on logout". Make sure it's unticked and I think all should be well.

But there is another trap: the Logout Button. If you end your session by clicking on the Log Out button (which I think is the default) there is also a tick box there labelled "Save session for future logins". This needs to be unticked too.

Good luck.

Thanks to both of you for suggesting I check out startup and sessions. I had a chance to go there today on that computer and fix the problem. I actually did this before I saw Peejay's reply and ended up simply going to one of the tabs within startup & sessions (forgot to make note of which one so as to indicate it here). Anyway when you tab across and read what's inside each section there is an option to "clear saved sessions" which I did.

I did not have to untick any other boxes (I actually checked on another computer which I put Linux lite on as well that didn't have any saved sessions to compare and it had the box ticked that Peejay mentioned) and presto I'm not getting that box coming up about the session.
