Add Another Clock with a Different Time Zone
#1
Hi, I'm traveling at the moment and wanted to add an additional clock in the panel tray to keep track of home time in addition to the local time. But I'm not seeing in LL, or on here, how to add a clock. Is this possible?

You can add a clock to a panel by right-clicking on the panel and select Panel -> Add New Items -> Clock.

Hello kris84,

after adding the clock.
Right click it then do - Properties>Time and date Settings>Unlock (enter your password)
select timezone from the map
Select Lock>Close
Keep the default setting as "keep syncronized with internet servers"

When I right click and go to Properties, I get the Datetime dialog box, which only has options for formatting how the date/time should look. There is no option there for the Time and Date Settings to change the time zone. Am I missing something?

Hello kris84,

click the box as highlighted in above screenshot

This will produce the second GUI as shown in the above image

  1. click unlock button as marked at #1 on screenshot
  2. click the text entry box as marked at #2 on screenshot, (this box will be empty on a new clock added), from the tutorial by  [member=6925]RandomBoy[/member]
After you click it and choose your location then -
  1. click at position #1 again to lock it.
  2. click close, and close, on each GUI
The new location will appear here as words the next time you check, it has to syncronize with the internet servers, it takes only few seconds.
I want to say Thank You to [member=6925]RandomBoy[/member]  as I did not know previously how to add the clock before reading your instructions 8)

My problem is, I don't have that option in the dialog box that appears. My only options there are for Layout Format, Date Format, and Time Format. No options for the Time Zone as in your dialog box. Changing the Time and Date Settings changes both clocks. Is there is a setting or option somewhere else that needs changed/enabled to allow this option to show up??

Did you add the Clock to the Panel as asked in the first reply? The Clock is a separate panel item to Date and Time. The Clock is what you should be configuring, not Date and Time.

Ahhh, that's the issue. I thought they were the same thing, and didn't even see "Clock" as a panel item when adding it. Problem solved. Thanks to all who helped! Smile
