I have just discovered Linux Lite and I just say that I LOVE it!!! It is truly fast and elegant. I have the habit of logging off and on multiple times a day. On other distros my lgoon was the default and all I had to do was enter my password. Would someone be able to tell me how to configure Linux Lite to not have to click on my name every time I want to login? I like to just sit down, enter my password, and hit enter. By the time I've done all that the monitor has woken up. It would be nice not to have to use the mouse to logon. Thanks for any help. And, before I go, Kudos to the developers for a tremendous job!

Hi jallain, thanks for the feedback Smile Thats (lightdm) something we are looking into. Hopefully we can have that feature available in a future release.

I would go one step further than jallain did in his original post.  He mentions that he clicks on his user name and then enters his password.  There does not appear to be any way to activate the password entry box other than by using the mouse to click on the user name; there ought to be a keyboard choice (usually Tab, in my experience) to active the user name so that, again by keyboard (Enter) you can select the user and activate the password entry box.  In other words, Tab, Enter, type password rather than go to the mouse, move it to the user, click on the user, type password.

Hello,

This bugs me too. (I appreciate Linux Lite too, very good distro!)

Is this relevant? https://bugs.launchpad.net/lightdm-gtk-g...ug/1231134

Is there maybe a way for us to modify a config file to enable the keyboard (arrows/Tab and Enter) to select a user on the login screen?

Also, if there is only one user, it could already be activated (waiting for password input, no need to select).

Thanks Smile

Hello!

Welcome to Linux Lite, and to the forums.

This is something that appears from time to time, and started appearing around v2.2 or so. I don't think the reference you quoted will help with the bug, but

https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~lightdm-gt...vision/141

might help the LL development team with adding support for TAB and ENTER at login, so we don't have to click on the avatar any more...

Thanks, N4RPS for your response, I'll patiently wait to be able to log in without a mouse.
