Jerry's analogy mentions how a political candidate goes about campaigning.  bluezeo could mean he was neither a member of a small country town of 25 or a city of millions, but then why would that thought come close to putting him in a sour mood?  bluezeo and I both live in the USA.  We have two major political parties.  And we are just two months into a new administration.  It is likely that bluezeo is either happy about who won, but is disappointed in some things that are happening, or he is unhappy about who won and is disappointed in everything that is happening.  That could lead him to a sour mood.  Although he didn't explicitly mention political parties, I deduce that is what he was implying.

Neither Jerry nor I are saying that converting someone from Apple is undesirable.  In fact, I specifically wrote that they are indeed welcome.  They are just not the focus.  And since Jerry has over 1.5 million documented downloads of this product, I give him some credit that he knows what he is doing.

I came from Apple when they stopped supporting Power PC iMac's. I could have afforded to bought a new Apple computer but they made me mad  > and I don't trust Apple to not do it again.

Anger.  Discontent.  I agree those are strong motivators for change.  But where do we see that more?  With Mac purchasers, or Windows users?  Apple tends to have larger customer satisfaction and loyalty.  There are more people using Windows.  And I come across many who are either apathetic, reluctantly tolerant, or angry with Windows; and therefore, easier to convert.  I think this is why they are the focus.  They are the "low hanging fruit."  People who listen to Linux podcasts or are Mac users are not.  But they are still welcome.

Yes I understand, the focus is Windows users, like me. I can some days now use Linux Lite more than windows,  depending what I am doing etc.

I know Jerry and the Devs know what they are doing and it is why I use the distro, like so many others who install Linux Lite do. The stats are good and it is positive that the distro is growing.

Do Apple users change more to Linux, than Windows ?
Sometimes when I search for commands, or tutorials, it has the versions for terminal in Linux, and Apple, it gave me the impression the transition may be good but I am not sure.
How was the transition from Apple to Linux for you ?
How did it compare to someone you came across who transitioned from Windows to Linux ?

The Apple users I know don't even think about changing to Windows or Linux. They just spend more money on a Mac without even considering anything else. Too much money and too little thinking.  Some Windows users I know have put Linux on their old computers.

I don't think I am exactly the typical Linux convert. I started using DOS with menus on my first computer to avoid using the terminal before putting Windows 3.1 on it. Back in the dark ages of about 2002 before cable internet, I tried MEPIS (Point & Click Linux) on my own for a little while. Then a guy I met at a Linux Users Group installed Fedora on my computer. I got scared off by updating by phone dial up internet, the Terminal, and Synaptic Package Manager. I gave up and went to XP. Even now Fedora is beyond my comfort level. I should have stuck with MEPIS.  ;D I also tried OS/2 before getting a new computer with Windows 98 moving on to Windows XP. After getting my iMac, I still had to use Windows at work up to Windows XP Pro when I retired. The transition to Linux was not difficult. I still avoid the terminal as much as possible. I just copy and paste commands when I have to use it. I always say if I wanted to use the command line, I would have stayed with DOS. ;D When I moved to Linux permanently, I was use to updates from Apple and had cable internet. The last computer I bought came with Windows 8 with a free upgrade to Windows 10. I wiped it an put Linux Lite on it.

Yeah, Apple alienated me too by cutting me off from more and more of my large library of Mac software, especially games.  First was ending the possibility of booting into OS9, leaving me with the clunky and awful Classic environment.  Second was cutting Classic altogether, ending any chance of running my OS9 apps.  Although the transition to Intel was handled very well, with Rosetta, they then unnecessarily cut off access to PowerPC-era OSX apps by ending support for Rosetta.  This was the final straw - there was no good reason for that.  Rosetta obviously would be less and less of a drain on system resources as the Intel chips became more and more powerful and Macs came with more and more RAM.  It was incredibly galling to end up being able to run ONLY the DOS or Windows versions of my old games and apps via Boxer or Crossover, and being TOTALLY unable to run my older Mac titles, on a Mac, after I had waited longer for the Mac versions, paid more, and in general made many sacrifices to support the Mac platform.  With that, I left.

For me - I'm independent. I won't vote one party.  I voted for the lesser evil. But for me it was JBS and youtubers like nerd on the street and Ostoday to really got me looking at options. I landed her by accident. I did an random USB pull when my old distribution broke.
