CD/DVD Burner warning message
#1
Starting CD/DVD Burner I get
Failed to initialise gstreamer transcoder: An error occurred setting gstreamer up for transcoding. (falling back to basic implementation.)
Do I assume this means I need to install a gstreamer add-on and in which case what would that be?
Thanks

Try installing Restricted Extras from Install Additional Software.

Hello Kamyar,
have you used the "Install additional software" to then install the "restricted extras" ?

Hi,
No I haven't since it was already installed right from the begining.

Hello Kamyar,

"Install Additional Software" is there from the beginning.

You have to choose to install, "restricted extras".
This can be done during OS install, or after install.
Installing restricted extras during install did not work for me personally, and I still needed to open the "Install additional Software" tick and select to install the "restricted extras" and click the install button. This then solved the problem I had.

Hello Kamyar,

I am unsure of how to help, someone else will be able to do so soon.

Are you trying to burn mp3 as audio cd ?
I had errors with this and found a solution and posted it, if this is the problem I can search out this post and put a link for you ?

Good morning,
Well I get this warning when I launch Xfburn
I press OK and then continue my work without any problem
So to answer your question, I get it before to decide what I am going to do.
Thanks for your help and don t worry since it is harmless anyway.
Regards.
