hotmail on chromium blank
#1
Hi

Since around 13 nov i'm having trouble accesing hotmail using chromium browser. After i type the adress the page is just blank nothing shows at all. Other issue i have noticed is that a chat system for customer support doesn't work. There are no issues on firefox.

I don't know if it's related to this https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p...7&t=233612

Hi thoughtinstinct,

I know it's not a real solution rather than a work around to your problem.

The most horrible experience with Microsoft's customer service in my attempt to help a customer with hotmail account problems has been for me the last straw. I do recommend anyone to switch from this provider! Even Google with all their data collection I consider a much better choice than Microsoft.

Please do understand this very outspoken opinion as an honest advice, not as an attempt to start a flame war!

Thanks LL-user, i do understand your opinion and i  remember a couple of years ago writting a long email to them letting them know how useless their password recovery system was.

Anyway, i cant change my email now so im stuck with hotmail and will see if this issue affects thunderbird also otherwise i will be using that or a better email client if anyone has some suggestions. Thanks !

What site do you use?  I can get to my Hotmail using www.outlook.com.

For the record, I think you can actually use www.gmail.com as a universal email client.  Which is to say, you can use their site to check your Hotmail email.  I do use Google Chrome, but when I used Chromium, I don't recall having an issue checking my Hotmail at www.outlook.com.

Torreydale is correct, you can use Gmail also for your hotmail account if you need to stick to it. Meaning, you not only can receive your emails there, but you also can send email with your hotmail address as sender.

In saying all that, also my first post, I switched over to my own domain and therefore personal email address ages ago to avoid situations like yours, being dependent on one of these "free" email providers. Between 30c and $1 a month for that is worth it for me.
That doesn't mean I can't use these "free" email providers interface. As with your hotmail address I can also manage my personal email address with Gmail if I want to. Best of both worlds Smile

Thanks torreydale and LL-user. Issue seems to have resolved itself and now i can login in to hotmail.com without problem.

I will explore using Gmail as my only email client as i think it has much better UI.
