Well Elliot,

I'm glad you got it straightened out.  I'm still not entirely sure I understand what was happening, but it's definitely possible that the installation of Nautilus might have caused the problems.  Anyway, good to here you're up and running the way you want.

my guess it it was somehow confused having both installed or nautilus was set as default and would not load, i really have no idea either. lol but most likely it was not the default and making thunar default with sudo would have worked without the uninstalling of anything. i just had no idea why it would not let me choose thunar until running it permission in termninal and seeing the message "CRITICAL **: Unable to open file /home/elliott/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list.6825.tmp for writing: Permission denied" then adding sudo to allow the change. anyway the support you guys give here is so fast its like a chat room, i hope to one day be able to help people with this os myself its by far the best os imho. Smile

i would like to know if i can log on as root or give all privileges to my current account somehow, i know its unsafe but just for certain times it would be cool to know how to do. Smile
