Unetbootin

Having a problem with Unetbootin on LL 3.0x64
The ISO will burn to usb flash,but at the end at reboot the system freezes.

Tried the same ISO on LL 2.8 and it was fine.

Dont know if this is a LL 3.0 problem or a Unetbootin prob,or a combination of both.

I used to use Unetbootin and stopped when my results were inconsistent.  Perhaps scrap Unetbootin.  Instead use what's already included with Linux Lite, ie. Disks.  Menu > Settings > Disks.

After opening Disks, just highlight your flash drive on the left, and then click the settings (cog) wheel on the right, and select "Restore Disk Image."

@ torreydale,

Are you saying that you use the disks program to create live USB's from ISO files?  I've never heard of anyone doing that before and didn't know it could do that.

@ Jocklad,

UNetBootin can be finicky and inconsistent at times.  If torreydale's solution doesn't work, another way is to simply use the dd command as shown in the Help Manual.  Scroll down to "Writing the Linux Lite ISO to USB in Linux and OSX".  If you're at all unsure about those instructions, post back here with your question or to ask for clarification before attempting.  The dd command can be dangerous if not run properly.

I ditched Unetbootin for the same reasons as torreydale, to flakey. Have been using Etcher now for a while, it's brilliant.

@gold_finger,

Yes.  I learned about using Disks to make bootable USB drives from YouTuber Joe Collins.
