Unable to install EPSON L355 (Printer Driver) in Linux Lite 3.0
#1
Hi,

I just upgraded Linux lite from 2.8 to 3.0

Previously, I could print word document to Epson L355 in Linux Lite 2.8
Now, after upgrade to 3.0, the driver can not be installed via Synaptic Package Manager. When I marked the  "epson-inkjet-printer-201207w" then there is a message "could not mark all packages ....."
OR
another way, I have tried to add the printer via  "configure printer' menu, however, the installed driver is not for L355.  Sad

If you have any ideas or hints how to install it, please let me know.

Thanks,

Syaiful

Have you tried installing "printer-driver-escpr" via Synaptic Package Manager?  I got the idea from the following two links.

Hi

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, I have tried it (few times).
The result is still unchanged: the driver can not be installed to my notebook with 3.0.  Sad

I have had the exact same issue with my Epson XP-225 on updating to 3.0, solved thanks to this post:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t...st13488161

this worked for me:

Code:
sudo apt install printer-driver-escpr

hope this helps you as well

Finally, my Epson L355 can be operated by installing L375 driver  Smile
The L375 driver is already available in database (local driver).

Now, L355 is able to print a document & a photo, but first I have to check all features of L355.

-----
Before choosing L375 driver, I tried persistently to install L355 driver, however the installation/adding printer process is never ending!  ;D

Thanks Niggle & Torreydale for your advises.

cheers
