Windows 10 - from your computer to satan's server
#1
Apparently, according to the youtube video link below, when one signs up to Win 10, you're agreeing to a massive invasion of privacy and security.  If the following is true then this is extremely worrying.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEBzc1GHUQE

About half-way through the youtube video, the phone-call finishes and an English guy gives you step-by-step advice on his PC on how to inactivate win10's 'spy-ware'. Worth watching if you want to use win10.

Thankfully, I decided to stop at win8.1 and anyway my main OS for everyday use has been and will continue to be LL - a lot simpler & safer!

Cheers
Mike
64bit OS (32-bit on Samsung[i] netbook) installed in [i]Legacy mode on MBR-formatted SSDs (except pi which uses a micro SDHC card):
2017 - Raspberry pi 3B (4cores) ~ [email protected] - LibreElec, used for upgrading our Samsung TV (excellent for the task)
2012 - Lenovo G580 2689 (2cores; 4threads] ~ [email protected] - LL3.8/Win8.1 dual-boot (LL working smoothly)
2011 - Samsung NP-N145 Plus (1core; 2threads) ~ Intel Atom [email protected] - LL 3.8 32-bit (64-bit too 'laggy')
2008 - Asus X71Q (2cores) ~ Intel [email protected] - LL4.6/Win8.1 dual-boot, LL works fine with kernel 4.15
2007 - Dell Latitude D630 (2cores) ~ Intel [email protected] - LL4.6, works well with kernel 4.4; 4.15 doesn't work

@Jocklad
Yep, you're right - win10 is essentially a glorified trojan horse sent by microsoft...

Beware geeks bearing gifts?

I can hear the linux haters crowing now (free isos and downloads and applications). I do Windows 10 to tune motorcycles (I keep it offline mostly)
I keep a Windows 7 laptop as a backup in my bag for tuning motorcycles. In case the Windows 10 one goes snafu.

The wife is a die hard Windows 10 user because of her work environment and so her personal laptop is also dialed in to interface with her work server in her office.

We are just all screwed I guess. Glad that I won't live forever to see the results of all of this.
