Adobe Flash Player

Hey im new here and i can't get adobe flasher player to install, i have an outdated version and linux 1.0.8 won't let me install, when i go to their site to update i tried YUM selection to install adobe, and then the tar, i extracted it and don't know where to go to save, i just need further instructions can someone please help. Tried googling online but not much help for linux lite problems with installing adobe flash player here's my current version and the one i need.

There are a few important things to mention here, firstly Adobe being the wonderful company they are will not update flash. They may push some security fixes. But have stated they will provide any more updates to flash.  So the version provided will be the only version for the time being. I'm sorry to say there is nothing under our control, as we do not influence Adobe.

With all of that out of the way, you CAN install Google Chrome. Google has a deal with Adobe to provide flash on their platform/browser. It's commonly reffered to as pepper-flash. It would mean no longer using firefox. Or simply running Chrome when there is a need. I do this similarly to watch videos from my ISP services. Instructions for installing can be found on the manual here. I suggest reading some common issues found on the manual if you have time. I will also post the steps below :

For 32bit open a terminal and type:

sudo dpkg -i google-chrome*
rm -rf google-chrome*

For 64bit open a terminal and type:

rm -rf google-chrome*

When the install has finished, Google Chrome can be found in Menu, Internet.

Helen, Linux Lite comes with Flash pre-installed, there is no need to install it. What website can you not see flash on?

I have found a couple of the facebook games can be very jerky, generally that "candy crush" is the worst offender, where I had a "flash crash" a couple of days ago !!!

I'm also a newbie to Linux Lite (& Chromium browser but I use Chrome as my default Windows XP browser).  Every time I try to go to a site that requires Flash I get redirected to here

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?no_redirect

Which option should I be using? 

I tried selecting "APT for Ubuntu 10.04+" then it says

When I tell it to go ahead I get 'Failed to open URI "apt:adobe-flashplugin?channel=$istro-partner".  The specified location is not supported.'




I then tried what shaggytwodope suggested...

But it errored out as shown below...

How do I get Flash to work in Chromium???
